Edgewater Lutheran Church began as a mission outreach of Christ Lutheran Church in the late 2000s. Pastor Tim Eaton was called. What started as Pastor Tim, his wife Britteny, and son Gavin at the time, turned into an amazing congregation with a desire to bring the Gospel into a growing community in the Eastvale and Chino area. A small group of believers gathered with a clear purpose: to share Christ with those who did not yet know Him In the early days, the church met in homes and temporary spaces, trusting that God would provide what was needed along the way.
From the beginning, there was also a vision for something more permanent: a place where Word and Sacrament ministry could take root and where a Christian school could one day serve families in the community.
That vision has not always been easy. There have been seasons of uncertainty, delays, and waiting, especially surrounding property and long-term planning. But through it all, God has remained faithful, sustaining His church and continuing to gather His people around His Word.
Today, Edgewater continues as a mission-minded congregation without a permanent facility, meeting in local spaces and staying deeply connected to the community. In recent years, the church has taken intentional steps forward, strengthening its outreach, expanding its online presence through new technology and livestreaming, and preparing for future growth. With the encouragement of our district and partners like Lutheran Church Extension Fund, we are actively pursuing a long-term solution that begins with establishing a Christian school, laying a foundation for both education and future church ministry.
Through every season, our purpose has remained the same: to proclaim Jesus Christ clearly and faithfully. We believe that He is the one who builds His church, and we trust Him to lead us into the future. Edgewater’s story is still being written, and by God’s grace, the best chapters are ahead.
